Hebron® is the result of the obstinate resoluteness of a young man, who sought the realization of a wish: to create an industry to produce medicines using national raw material, derived from our natural resources, and from the scientific and technological potential available at the Brazilian universities and research institutes. With the project in mind, he organized a small distributorship of medicines and started working toward his objective.

The profit of the small distributorship started to be invested in order to make the project viable. A consultation letter was submitted to Sudene (Superintendence of Development of the Northeast), which supported the initiative approving the Project. It took four years to build the manufacturing facilities, from 1985 to 1989, and the Company started to operate in January of 1990.
 
At the beginning only conventional products were developed. When the market spread from Bahia to Manaus, one and half year after its inauguration, the Company decided to launch its first research product. At that time, Hebron® launched Giamebil®, the first research product of the laboratory, today absolute selling leader in Brazil in its category, which pioneered other medicines that would follow.

When Hebron® was installed Brazil had an expressive pharmaceutical industrial complex. Technological and research centers, however, were restricted to the academic environment, and the results of their research did not get to the industry, to drugstores, hospitals and to the population. Hebron® moved ahead. The Company believed in the potential of Brazilian scientists and researchers, and the Brazilian industry saw the rising of a laboratory that produces medicines based on research developed in our universities.

The result of investments in research in the areas of Fine Chemistry, Phytotherapeutics and Biotechnology stimulated Hebron® to launch quality products in the market, in the various medical specialties.
