UNIBIO

UNIBIO is a production unit for Biotechnological Raw Materials located at the Hebron® plant. The modern UNIBIO facilities, which comply with ANVISA regulations, produce pharmaceutical raw materials originating from single cells and isolates metabolites from the subsequent molecules.

Examples of these raw materials include ß-glucans, responsible for activating the defense cells in the immune system, and Saccharomyces cerevisiae, which acts in the restoration and balance of vaginal and intestinal microbiotas.

Saccharomyces cerevisiae

Saccharomyces cerevisiae is a non-pathogenic yeast, which like other strains of the Saccharomyces genus, presents bactericidal/bacteriostatic activity on pathogenic germs. This yeast synthesizes B complex vitamins and has antimicrobial activity.

  • Saccharomyces cerevisiae acts in the restoration and balance of vaginal and intestinal microbiotas.
  • This biological substance is produced entirely at UNIBIO – Industrial Biotechnology Unit – at the Hebron® industrial complex in Caruaru - PE.
  • Hebron® products which contain Sacharomyces cerevisiae: Florax®, Florax® - SM and Ginoflorax®.

ß-Glucanas

  • Glucans is a biopolymer found in the cellular wall of Saccharomyces cerevisae. Glucans do not have toxic action but their pharmacological property is to activate the defenses of the mononuclear phagocyte system against virus, bacteria, protozoa and pathogenic fungi infections.
  • Glucans activates the defense cells of the immune system.
  • This biological substance is extracted (using a biotechnological process) from the cellular wall of Saccharomyces cerevisae and is also produced entirely at the UNIBIO facilities.
  • Product which contains Glucans: Imunoglucan®.
